NYC Spine Surgeon, Dr. Todd J. Albert serves as the Surgeon-in-Chief Emeritus and Korein-Wilson Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Albert serves as the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Currently, Dr. Albert also sits on a variety of boards and is serving as the Vice President of the Scoliosis Research Society.

In addition to his academic activities, Dr. Albert actively participates in spine care-related research. He works to identify early indicators for surgical intervention, compares patient results after various surgical techniques, and works to prevent and reduce complications from surgery. During one landmark trial, Dr. Albert was an investigator that compared surgical and nonsurgical treatments for lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, and lumbar spondylolisthesis.

Dr. Todd J. Albert is a practicing orthopedic spine surgeon whose primary focus is on diagnosing and treating disorders of the cervical spine.

He has an interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques and image-guided technologies in the management of spinal disorders.

Dr. Albert is the Surgeon-in-Chief Emeritus at Hospital for Special Surgery and is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is the recent 2019 recipient of the prestigious Nicolas Andry Award for his lifetime of scientific research and contributions to the field of orthopedic spine surgery, an honor bestowed by The Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. Dr. Albert has been identified as a New York “Top Doc” consecutively since 2014.
